Beethoven’s 9th Symphony for iPhone

If you even slightly like music you NEED this app I really like how all the recordings are syncedup so I can switch back and forth Being able to watch Leonard Bernstein conduct the Symphony alone is worth the 799 full unlock My one critique is I personally am not a fan of how the scrollingscore brings instruments in and out of view because I enjoy reading the music along with the recording and finding secondary lines which to listen Sometimes Id be reading an instruments part and the app would completely take it away because that instrument was not important at the time I really do like the other features of this app like the blinkinglight seating chart and the playbyplay which could really appeal to nonmusicians or people who are just being exposed to this kind of music I would LOVE to see this app evolve and give many more pieces of music this same treatment                 Perfection

This app is outstanding in every way You get four complete stereo recordings of Beethovens masterpiece this alone should shame those who think this app is overpriced and so much more The ability to switch back and forth from one conductors version to another in real time as you watch the score unfold in front of you is fantastic The included full video recording of the Bernstein version is also a great thing The Gardiner version is played on period instruments as it would have been heard in Beethovens time Fascinating to compare these four versions of the great 9th Symphony I would love to see more How about Beethovens 5th 6th and 7th symphonies next Great app all around                 Outstanding and what a deal

I loved the concept Following along with the scrolling sheet music and with all the different composers is a refreshing way to listen to music Wish the app wasnt so expensive to unlock the full features though              Great idea Sorta pricey

Impressed by the slickness of the app and the feature that allows to switch between performances mid course However there is one major flow in the music sheet view you cant follow an instrument because its line keeps moving up or down when other instruments join or disappear Its like if someone is pulling your book when youre trying to read Otherwise super app for music lovers        Great but the music sheet view needs to be fixed

I loaded this app last night and I cant stop listening to it The ability to follow the music with the score makes it worth the cost of the app Dare you to listen to the Second Movement without emotion                 Incredible

I just got this app because the concept seemed very original but I cant try it because it crashes every time I try to open it     App will not open

Well worth 8 for the full app The video and recordings alone are worth that let alone the score and interactive extras This is a tremendous resource for any Beethoven fan musician or music teacher As a violinist who has performed this several times I enjoyed following the other instrument parts in the score since I have a hard time not focusing on the violin part whenever I listen to it                 Fantastic

What an app An immersive experience that enthusiastically presents and explains the best piece of music ever written to a wide audience Thanks itunes for pushing it as a featured app While I truly love classical music without any training there are a lot if things that Im missing when trying to get a better understanding This app brings the 9th much closer and makes me appreciate it even more Im definitively going to get the iPad version too As some people mentioned it would be even better if the instruments could be faded in and out And if this technology could be applied to other great works as well Id buy them all This might be just the tool that Benjamin Zander needed to make people aware of the fact that they love classical music and that they just didnt know it yet see Benjamin Zanders phenomenal TED talk                 Wonderful

Ive been texting everyone I know about this app Its really amazing The full version is a bit pricy but the developers earned it                 WOW

If you like the ninth and can afford the price buy this app The graphical view of which part of the orchestra is playing is completely mesmerizing Also the ability to switch between different performances on the fly gives one a whole new appreciation of different conductors and orchestras Great app                 Like watching fireworks

A fascinating app Seeing which instruments are playing by watching the orchestra diagram light up is minimally interesting and the piano roll is kind of redundant when the score scrolls in the same way with labels However the synchronization between the score and all four recordings is astounding The recordings havent been sped up or slowed down the developers seem to have mapped the recordings so you can seamlessly switch between them at the correct musical point despite Bernstein being molasses in some parts and Gardiner conducting like hes on stimulants The text commentary is basic but enlightening and nicely unobtrusive As for the price I think 799 is a bargain for FOUR classic recordings the Bernstein being a full video My only qualm valuewise is that the audio will obviously not be as good as a CD and perhaps not up to iTunes quality even with Loudness turned off And the recordings will be trapped in the app they wont become part of your music library Overall a novelty but a very very good one Btw get the iPad version if you can iPhone is a bit cramped              Beautiful

This is a great part of history Could you imagine the if people could of interacted with the music like this in the 1800s let alone 1950s when the first recording was recorded They should have all the symphonies of Beethoven and then have a separate app for all composers Thank you for this great app                 Drummer Ben
