This app is great works perfecty and allows me to use an old iPad 1 as both a media device and a high quality remote for my stereo I use it stream both NET Radio and my iTunes library as well as fiddle with the DSP audio processing settings and volume No complaints been using for several years                 Repurposed iPad

Like that app is now typically very responsive not fully polished tho Preferred ability to change surround mode by tapping current sound mode rather than requiring use of DSP menu PLEASE add sub level control am I missing it somewhere           Please add Subwoofer level control

I have a Yamaha RX v795a and this app does nothing     Does not work on older Yamaha receivers

I love almost everything about this app I think i have an rxv575 hooked up with a ps3 and appletv ps3 is the device we stream apps from I love that I can navigate the ps3 Netflixhulu Amazon prime but hbogo doesnt work with the physical remote so thats my primary use for this app but the UI of the remote is first hidden a couple clicks deep and second the touch areas are way too small and the remote is tiny on the screen you have to really look at the iPad mini and focus to be able to hit the arrows thats whats keeping me from using this on the daily        remote UI keeps me from using this fulltime

I recently purchased a Yamaha RXV775 receiver and downloaded the Yamaha AV controller app After two days of using the app I can no longer connect to the receiver When I press the app it says it cannot connect with the error ID 1001 Ive done every possible troubleshoot Help     Yamaha AV Controller does not work

I once would have given this app 5 starsbut now I cant get the thing to work on my iPad or iPhone Error ID 1001 I have looked all over the internet and have found no fixes        Good then breaks

What a POS broke my connection and cannot roll back to previous versions what monkeys built this get this fixed asap     Does not work with RX 775

I am just coming from a denon avr and using the denon app The Yamaha app works worlds better I just wish they had more features The denon had a lot more features such as full setup via the iPad The Yamaha does give you remote so you can run thru setup by using the iPad as your remote The web interface on the Yamaha is not as full featured of the denon either But I was not going to buy another denon after the last one died after 312 years The Yamaha app is definitely more responsive than the denon app              Works well could use more features

Come on Yamaha The Sony app lets you flip between A and B amp output Its awesome that your receivers offers A B AB but PLEASE make your app let us switch between A and B outputs like the Sony one           Decent but missing major feature

The app generally works very well but switching in and out of party mode causes the onscreen info about artist CD title and track to disappear from the onscreen Ie the TV display Note that I have no speakers connected to 2nd zone if that matters              Party mode funky display

The app is ok though a little flaky lately with my RXV675 and Spotify Have to manually restart the system about every 2 or 3 uses The UI is a bit clunky but works Adding URL schemes would be VERY helpful           OK

I love this amp I love the app its super reliable it does almost everything I want it to do 100 would recommend It could use a redesign its not easy on the eyes the UI is a bit clunky some things are hidden away in non obvious places But 1 reason for 4 stars and not 5 is it doesnt remember which amp is mine I have to reselect it every time I open the app I only have one granted maybe if I had multiple I would appreciate the selection but it would be better if it remembered my LAST one and just autoselected it              Super reliable

I fired up the app and there was my receiver Now I can control EVERYTHING in my home theatre system from my phone So cool The only thing that would make it better would be an apple watch app                 Wow Zero Setup Required

This is great I can start AirPlay straight to the receiver switch the zone playing to the outdoor zone and control the volume all from my phone Only complaint is that they still have not added optimization to take advantage of the iPhone 6iPhone 6 Plus This would be much appreciated              Great Just want iPhone 6 optimized

The latest updates broke tbe App It no longer finds my RXA840 Never had a problem before that and my Receiver is with Network Standby On since the day I bought it Terrible experience     Update rendered the App useless

App works flawlessly Updated my 3 star review like another reviewer stated make SURE youre on the same wifi and not guest My guest is a 31 while mine is a 21 but for some weird reason even though I was on a 21 I was actually NOT in the same network So change networks just to check if youre having probs mine works on an iPad running ios6 an iPhone 5 in IOS 7 and my iPhone 6 running the current IOS8 so if youre running any of those it works flawlessly Hope that helps someone using the VX477 on a wired network                 Works flawlessly on IOS6 to IOS 8

This app is great when it works I finally got it to work consistently and then as of 61 its spotty drops and hasnt connected in the past two weeks at all Ive rebooted the receiver router and Internet at least five times in various different orders and it just wont work All my other entertainment equipment is seeing the router and web with no problems When you spend that kind of money for a great receiver because you need the app control and it doesnt work its very disappointing Yamaha please put some money into app development and get this issue resolved ASAP Im not the only one with this issue I googled it and theres plenty of people having this issue        iOS 8 killed AirPlay

Loved this app when I got it back in May Now it wont connect even when I manually enter the IP address Get on it Yamaha and fix this already     App used to worknot anymore

This app desperately needs at least a 10 Band Equalizer The app needs some work needs a firmware update alert as that part is buried and not obvious Some things like adding a favorite for net radio is not intuitive Using with the RXV573 it looks like Yamaha abandons the firmware updates for its receivers just a short time after they are released I would expect a longer life more features and bug fixes It would sure be nice to get AirPlay video enabled           10 Band Equalizer needed Abandons Receiver FW updates after a short time

This app is great works great with iPhone 6 now I have taken the RXA820 off my Ethernet switch and used a direct connection to the router Also I updated to the latest firmware and manually entered the AVRs IP Address It has no problems connecting to the receiver now I have used this app for about 4 years on an iPhone 4S and always update my firmware Thanks Yamaha for keeping it updated for newer iPhones and iPads                 Great app with nice GUI

When it works is great but its really frustrating because suddenly stop workingit worked for a while but since a month aprox it doesnt detect my receiver Terrible support from yamaha I specifically purchased my rxa1040 for the wifi capability and I regret every single day     Annoying

This app works well for the most common functions of the RXAV1040 I like the convenience of having both this app and the Apple Remote app for AppleTV on my iPhone The UI is not very Apple but is very Yamaha Not a bad thing but definitely a change from the standard iOS UI aesthetic I wish the Remote feature which provides access to Top Menu On Screen PopUpMenu Option and Display functions wasnt buried at the bottom of the Option list and was instead a top level selection along with Zone Input etc           Convenient Supplement to Physical Remote

v 430 fixed the glitch where the DSP mode would not displayed correctly It also seems to work faster and more smoothly with my HTR7065 receiver than previous versions This was always a superb app and it now even better If you have a comparable Yamaha receiver you need this app                 Version 430 works great

Yamaha has failed to fix Access Error issues with Pandora on RX2010A receivers I would strongly advise anyone thinking about an AV receiver to go with a different brand     Yamaha support is lacking

Like the app Use it pretty frequently Much easier that on screen or device nav But now its broken with new update Receiver and app dont connect manually or otherwise on rxv677 Come on Yamaha developers get it together Update It is incredibly unprofessional when Yamaha employees or the vendor who Yamaha has engaged to develop this app post obviously fake five star reviews to compensate for their coding errors Im my offices network admin I know how to manage a router and assign addresses manually to devices on the network if necessary Stop making excuses Yamaha and start fixing the app Now what youve done is forced me to send a letter to corporate customer service Be professional     Ok app thats now broken

Initially I liked the idea of having another mobile application that would help me control and configure another of my compnent devices without having to always pickup another remote control And I liked the sense of being able to sit at my desk and playback my music without having to constantly walk back and forth to the media center or have to load iTunes in order to do the same thing for pretty much any reason So far most of the apps functions control my system without any cause for concern The Skip function works very well and there doesnt seem to be an issue with it and yes there is a BUT But it would definitely be nice if while browsing through the Song listings it would actually play the songs I choose Instead the app seems to take its best guess at what I chose and then play it Also it would be nice if there were an escape out of Search without having to go through additional motions to get back the bottom menu in order to browse through my collection One thing a lot of app developers seem to forget with the use of the keypad is a way to close or remove it from view Fix these things and the app will definitely be an excellent addition to my capabilities           Just play the selection I made

Anyone complaining this app wont connect to their receiver simply does not know how to manage their network Home Wifi of any sort usually restricts the number of devices that can connect I have my reciver and all devices hard wired to a switch uplinked to the network Only my iPhone and wifes iPad are using wifi Installed like that it is 100 rock solid And what a joy Selecting input from a list of all inputs is great The real time 7 channel balancer is superb All the tone and dialouge enhance controls are available which are not present on the regular remote This app does everything you need while watching You still need on screen tools for base configuration but this app lets you access all that as well Now ALL my devices ate remote controllable from my phone Receiver western Digital TV Apple TV Samsung BluRay Samsung TV Thank you Yamaha for such great products and now a great app for the centerpiece of my system                 Perfect

Playing USB is a wonderful feature Its so much better than playing via an iPod iPhone And here is my opinion I have one 8 Gb Flash drive containing 2 music playlists 35 Gb for each playlist A and B and I would like to create another playlist Its like C for example CAB So I can shuffle all of my songs and I still have 1 Gb left on my Flash drive iTunes and other music apps can do that and We really hope that you can do so Good luck                 USB Playing

When trying to stream music from my iPhone to my RXA2020 Im able to use the app to turn on my system adjust volume etc but unable to play any music I just get the error Unable to Connect to Device I have reset my phones network settings deleted and reinstalled the app and even attempted to turn Network Standby on my AVR off and on This app is unusable for me now Please fix it     Unable to Connect to Device

I love using this app to control my receiver But its missing one critical function The ability to turn on and off zones A and B I use this app to run an outside set of speakers But I cant turn those speakers on and off without zone control and I can only do that from the original remote Add that little function and this app would be perfect              Does nearly everything

This app has worked ever since I installed it until the day I had to reboot my system It would no longer connect Then I discovered my iPhone connected to my Guest Access Network which does not allow access to my other devices Once I switched back to my regular network everything started working great again So it helps to perform a little simple troubleshooting before giving up on the App                 Verify your wifi connection
