Autism iHelp is a vocabulary teaching aid developed by parents of a child with Autism and a speech-language pathologist. Autism iHelp was inspired by the need for specific language intervention tools for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder focusing on their unique strengths and difficulty with expressive vocabulary.
Autism iHelp - WH?`s consists of three groups of questions paired with appropriate picture responses.
WHO questions focus on learning jobs/tasks related to specific people or community helpers.
WHAT questions target identifying attributes or functions of items/objects common to everyday life.
WHERE questions concentrate on learning locations of well-known activities/items in your child`s life.
This app includes 48 photos and questions chosen based on established expressive language milestones.
Autism iHelp - WH?`s address a very specific area of higher level language need in the Autism population. Through routine learning, children learn labeling of concepts. WH ?`s require incorporating more abstract thought and generalization in regard to the learned concepts. Children with Autism often have difficulty with this particular skill, and Autism iHelp - WH?`s apps are an excellent way to target a vital educational benchmark in a mobile capacity.
“with Autism iHelp…..it gets better.”

EXCELLENT Language App
This app is great for targeting those specific WH questions that any child with language impairment struggles with. The real-life photos are wonderful! And specific for helping with generalizing to the real world!
Really like this app and most made by Autism iHelp, I think they cover important areas children with Autism need to learn and work on. Would like the apps even more if there was a home button that would take me back to the home screen when questions are being asked. I have to complete all questions or close out of app and reopen to get back to the home page. Other than that they are great!
My students love this app, and are responding well to the written and verbal feedback for the choices. It is really helping them to grasp these skills. The only thing I wish is that it allowed for more than 1 student at a time, and that the kids couldn`t flip past the data at the end.
