Will not grab location        User
The app is great for bird ID and I love the nature share community but the location services does not work and that is annoying No matter how many times I go into my phone settings and set location services to always for this app it immediately defaults back to turning it off and always thinks im in Vermont This app is very expensive so I would expect it to have more frequent updates Please fix this bug in the next one        Location services broken
This app should be fixed The functionality of posting where youve seen a bird has become a total failure after the last update Or give us our money back I would not recommend this app at this time because the most recent update has broken the ability to correctly locate yourself and the bird sighting Have not gotten any response to email pleas for help with the dilemma Each time I go into Privacy Settings and Location Services and turn on Allowit reverts to nothing So therefore the app cannot figure out where I am And the map does not function correctly to allow me to move the map pin to my correct location It constantly locates me to Windsor County Vermont Update has been a big failure Fix it please And quickly     Location Access Turns Off
I have had the app for awhile now Worked fine in the beginning After some recent updates the app decided to move my location to Vermont Contacted the developers email NO Response Unable to smoothly drag the pin across the map Could be one of the best Birding apps I do not recommend at this time     Not A Happy Birder
Cannot put my location on it making it totally worthless Dont get it     Do Not Buy Piece of Junk
Unlike similar competitive iPad and iPhone apps none of this series of apps allows changes to a users Preferences for location Try as I may I always wind up in Vermont for location and I have never been there I was eventually able to drag a pin very laboriously to get into a general geographic area but never to a specific place After restarting the app it did not manage to retain the very rough location setting     Great data everything else seriously lacks functionality
This app has great info for bird identification but one of the features is supposed to be the ability to log sightings Unfortunately if you want to log your current location and it is somewhere other than Vermont you are out of luck It is nearly impossible to get the app to recognize your location even after you set and save it The app does not appear to use IOS Location Services at all Buy only if you just need bird ID info     Bird ID only
I still use my hardcopy Peterson field guide for birding but this is a great app for learning songs and calls Nearly every species has multiple sound clips I dont recommend using it to bring birds closer to you for photos but if your trying to learn songs and calls for local species this is a good app           Does a good job
Zero response to report that app will not load Refusal to refund BAD APP BAD DEVELOPER     RIPOFF
I used to rate this app 5 stars but it is not as good as it used to be It is still a good tool for identifying birds but is no longer very useful for posting sightings and maintaining life and locale lists unless you happen to live in Woodstock VT        Gone downhill
When I go to choose a location the App Selects Woodstock no matter where I am This will go back to 4 stars once the app location issue is updated     Location not working
This is a great bird database especially with the voice recordings But fix whatever is making the GPS put all of that users in Vermont        Fix the GPS
This app excels in its data The field song recordings are excellent The range maps may be questionable but hopefully they are being updated as users add sightings My main problems are two fold The first problem is with the apps ability to use my current location when I post a sighting I have checked the privacy settings on my iPhone and this app has permission to use my current location however it always shows my sightings in New Hampshire when Im actually much further south The second is with customer service They rarely respond to inquiries I make This is an expensive app and I think responding to a question from someone that posts plenty of sightings should be a priority Fix these problems and Ill consider upgrading by rating        Sufficient data poor functionality poor support
The May 2015 update altered the Add Sighting procedure to bypass GPS and require the moving of a pin across a map The pin jumps back the map wont scroll there is no override for zip code and no manual entry of location The moving of the pin can take up to 30 minutes on iPhone and still produce an inaccurate location Numerous contact attempts have been unsuccessful and Audubon has no Information about NatureShares programming decisions I have deleted and reinstalled this iPhone app several times I have phoned and searched for contact information I hope that communicating my negative experience will prompt a revision of the current app programming        Audubon Birds sightings
Used to be a quasireliable app but it has quickly gone downhill Im not sure if this is because Green Mountain Digital took over or what As far as the bird data goes its one of the best apps out there However if you actually want to use said data youre probably going to be extremely frustrated I havent been able to log in for weeks now There is no area to find your usernameI didnt forget it but I thought Id give that a tryand the password reset never sends the dang email This leads to another problem why cant the system remember my password I havent changed it and yet I alway get a so not your password message Whatever you do dont try and go through Green Mountain for support theres a 20 chance that you might get some sort of support I finally found a way to reset my password through the Audubon Guides site but be aware that it might take a few tries for that site to stop throwing cant send error messages Of course Ill have to go through it again because it cant remember a dang thing     Waste of money
I used to use this app all the time recording my sitings and finding birds For the last six months or so the location services have not been working The app always shows me in New Hampshire If I want to change it I have to spend 5 minutes dragging the pin across the continent I sure hope no one relies on this for citizen science I have tried everything to fix the location problem but nothing works and even the apps advice in FAQs is wrong on how to correct this problem So sad Please fix this     Used to Be Great but Now Too Frustrating To Use
Each sighting I try to enter i have to move the location from Vermont I am not close to Vermont and its a hassle to move the dot I have done the suggested fix under settings but it doesnt hold I have emailed support and get NO response which is just wrong and disrespectful when I paid for this app This needs to be fixed     Location of Sightings
Very nice on my iPhone 5s Love the voices                 Works great
Cant create an account App default is Vermont and cannot be changed Waste of time     Dont bother
Came back to birding after a long hiatus I used eBird some time ago kept up with updates Now there seems to be little change and the location is wonky I cant get it to work Takes many steps to find birds in local hotspots Also takes a lot to find birds if I dont know exactly the right name BUT once I find the info it is stellar Wish is linked directly to eBird I now have three bird Appswish they were all one in the same Still better than lugging books around But have a great DATA plan        Began using again recently
Fix this Cmon     Location location location
When I first purchased downloaded and installed Audubon Birds I was blown away with how easily the reporting of the time place of spotting birds was IT SIMPLY KNEW WHERE ONES PHONE WAS WHEN THE BIRDS WERE SPOTTED The old app was peaches cream fresh strawberries ice cream the new app if one can call it that is THE PITS Now if one wants to report a bird spotted in Antarctica must drag an icon from some street in Woodstock Vermont to the place one is in Antarctica to get a qualified accurate reporting of the bird spotting However the old app did it the new crew from NATURESHARE GREEN MOUNTAIN DIGITAL ZENWHATEVER knew how to totally wreck a truly wonderful app I do not believe the old app is resting in peace it most certainly be rolling over in its grave John Krinke a forsaken lover of the app he originally purchased     A Truly Great App Plundered to Close to Useless
Content and bird information is great but like all other reviews state the app just doesnt work the way it is designed Have tried to fix the location function but when you follow the instructions within the app they lead you nowhere I DO NOT live in Vermont I live in Florida I travel quite a bit and it would be very nice for this feature to work        Functionality is terrible
Bought app in 2011 Absolutely loved the app Strongly recommended it to several fellow bird watchers Updated in 2015 Stopped working 52015 So now what do I do Assistance is non existent emails go unanswered frustrations very high Is anyone out there to care              Stopped working
App does not work Has me in Woodstock Vermont instead of California Per usual no response from support Would be nice app if it worked Same issue is true with the whole family of appsall have problems and totally lack support never answer support requests     Deserve a zero
This app used to be great but now its barely useable The location tool is always wrong which makes it virtually impossible to log in any sightings accurately It always shows that I am in VT even though Im in MA and there seems to be no way to fix it When I try to drag the pin to the correct location the best I can hope for is hitting somewhere in the right county since you cant zoom in on the map and drag the pin at the same time If this is the same issue everyone else is having then its pretty much pointless to assume any of the sightings are getting logged in accurately What a shame        Unbelievably frustrating
Good photos but app does not allow you to set your own location You always end up in Vermont           Ok app
At first this app worked fine It would locate where I was no problem Now I am apparently from Vermont I tried to follow steps in the help section to fix the GPS problem but the instructions are wrong It says to go to search by shape and then click on more on the bottom bar except that there is NO bottom bar If it were a free app I wouldnt be so inclined to write a bad review but the lack of consideration for paying customers has forced me to do so I gave it 2 stars only because of the good data it provides about birds        Good data horrible GPS location finder
I SPENT ALL THIS MONEY ON EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR APPS AND YOU NEVER UPDATE THEM At least to even get them to work properly You take our money and run Update your old iOS 6 apps to work in the modern world I am not in WOODSTOCK VERMONT The apps dont even try to work Fix your outdated algorithms     NOT TAKING THE TIME TO UPDATE IS SHEER LAZINESS
Good data one of my favorite apps But the last update broke posting from your current location Now it is almost impossible to post a sighting especially if you are on the west coast This has been happening for a while Please raise this as a priority and get this fixed        Location for posting sightings broken
Why does this app always tell me Im in Vermont It doesnt matter where I travel its always Vermont I live in Tennessee and travel all over I want to post my sightings but its too much of a pain in the butt to try to use the tiny map to relocate the app to my actual location This should have been fixed right away but still has not been Pfft        Location doesnt work
It is frustrating to drag the location to my Virginia location each time I want to post a sighting the program ignores the iPads GPS I can get within 5 miles or so Fix this issue and it will be a 5 star app        Always in Vermont
I never have issues and use the application frequently The data is great especially the pictures and voice quality I enjoy sitting on my deck and playing the calls on my smartphone of a Red Eyed Vireo numerous Warblers and many others and having them fly to the closest branch and sing backawesome I also like having my life list online giving me access to it whether using the app from my smart phone my windows tablet or one of my iPads                 Love the app
As of today this app no longer works Besides all the location issues it will not even open the Locate Nearby Birds The whole point of this app is to track bird sightings     Do not buy
The latest update has a glitch where it does not remember your location or automatically find it Therefore I have to drag the stupid pin to post a siting all the way across the country PITA The database is okay but I wish all these apps allowed the user to add or post pics of unlisted or unidentified specimens           Fairly decent database but
There are some bugs with the app location device when posting sightings but otherwise I have found this enjoyable and informative I also enjoy the birding community and sharing of sightings              Audubon Bird Pro
Constantly resets location to Woodstock VT To correct it have to go online and fix each sighting This is a big pain Fix it Help tells you to check a GPS button that does not exist Also how does one label a location It only lists some other labels that dont pertain to my actual location I love the rest of the app just tired of having to change things online           Location location location
I have all of the same issues written before No support wrong location cant get it to work like it did Dont buy until they get it fixed     Dont Buy
Agree with others used to be much easier to record sightings as it at least read your current location which was usually at least close Default to a location across the country and having to painfully drag the uncooperative pin across is extremely frustrating Please fix        Fix maplocations for bird sightings
I love this app But the GPS function is terrible it has me located in Vermont I see other people have the same problem Im wondering why the developer cannot fix this and put out a fix Their answer to my question about how to fix it does not work there is no GPS located in the more section of browse by shape Terrible     GPS IS NONEXISTANT
If you want information on birds this app is great It has good photos descriptions etc If you want to share or look at sightings or maintain a list it is completely broken Like some other reviewers I have found that the app continually labels my location as Vermont I live on the west coast Pretty much all of the nature share functions do not work at all or work poorly You cannot edit your sightings or add them to a list once you have posted them Basically if you want a guide this app is great If you want to share information with others forget it           Great data horrible functionality
Hello GMD Can anybody hear us     Location issues
Come on guys sightings are all about location Obviously theres a problem Please fix it and I can go back to liking the app     Fix the location problem
As others have said the content of this app is nice The functionality however is quite bad I could go on suffice it to say that after four years or so trying to use it I have given up I have deleted it        Tried for a while but app lacks
The location on this app has not worked for months Why cant or why wont you fix it Its a good app ruined by a useless map        Why wont you fix this app
Nice app but location service needs fixing as it defaults to Vermont when you create an account and cant be changed This would be a very useful tool if it worked Seems like an easy fix 13 million downloadsVermont population is 625k     Fix location
Fantastic amount of data but the app is difficult to navigate Most importantly reporting sightings is nearly impossible because the app doesnt recognize your location or allow you to type in a zip code city etc You have to drag a pin around the map from Vermont slowly and the pin dragging doesnt work half the time        Location services broken
Program pins default location in Vermont Unable to correct in Preferences and no support from email provided in the FAQ Waste of 10     No support location bug renders app worthless for me
The content of the app itself is great The recordings are very good The photos are very nice But if you want to make a list of your sightings it gets very frustrating when every single time you go to add one you have to drag a silly little dropping down to the proper state that you are located within I do not live in Vermont but my sightings are always fixed at Vermont It is not a problem with my iPhone location services This is a problem with the app and I cant believe they have not fix this I tried to create a new account with a new location but the location is already fixed in Vermont and there is no way to change it           Location doesnt work
Cant log birds Location does not work and is very frustrating        My goto Bird App
