Quotebook — A Notebook for Your Quotes

From a UI and features standpoint this app is perfectly designed in almost every way But it doesnt matter how pretty an app like this is if it is unable to reliably store and sync your data Quotebook is simply unusable for me because no matter what I do it wont sync my data between my iPhone and iPad and in the rare instances when it does appear to sync it loses many of my quotes in the process Its really a shame because this app really is well designed on the surface But random data loss is simply inexcusable I hope that the developers would seriously reconsider their syncing strategy and use a more reliable and robust syncing platform like Dropbox or Wasabi Sync instead of iCloud     Great UI made unusable by random data loss and broken syncing

I have used many different methods and tools for storing my quotations None of them were very satisfactory to me Then I found Quotebook It is wonderful allowing me to search by author title and my own tags I am a happy customer                 My quest is ended

I bought this app a while back before the recent update in which it was revamped It had always been good for making note of memorable sayings but now that it has been updated it is a truly topnotch app for its purpose A very elegant userfriendly design that I really enjoy Highly recommend                 Useful welldesigned a pleasure to use

Why there is a lot of quotes gone The last update is baad and most of the authors and tags gone Bad bad bad     Zero

I really love this app But sadly its messed up with icloud drive sync Initially I thought it was icloud drive But I found other apps with icloud sync works fine So please fix the sync problem and if you couldnt handle icloud please adopt dropbox        Sad

This used to be one of my favorite apps I have depended on it stored my own quotes plus the quotes of others in this app for years Now none of the quotes show up on my iPhone The ones on my iPad seem to be there but all my tags are gone and every time I try to share or export a quote the app crashes I am running iOS 8 Its been out for a while and all of my other app developers have made the necessary adjustments     Did the developer quit supporting this app

There have been a lot of negative reviews and I feel bad for those folks It would be awful to lose all my quotes One negative reviewer suggested the only positive reviews were from people who just found or barely began using this app That does not describe me Ive been using this app since the 20 update FYI I have the latest iOS updates and an iPhone 6 I love this app I couldnt survive without it I currently have nearly 2000 quotes and Im still going strong I primarily use it on my iPad In fairness syncing between my iPhone and iPad wasnt reliable authors and sources kept getting jumbled so for the most part I stopped using it on my iPhone I utilize the backup feature often and it has been great for me My brother uses this app too and we share our quote collection back and forth There are some features Id love to see in the next update ie ability to italicize portions of a quote for emphasis or a source for books undo star ratings have quotations and apostrophes curved rather than straight have emdash abilities and a find and replace feature but overall this is still the single best quote app Ive found One feature I really like is the ability to add multiple topics tags for a quote If youre a prospective buyer I hope my review provides a little balance to the negative reviews More importantly I hope your experience will be like mine has beengrateful excited pleased and wellorganized                 Has been is and have faith that it will be my favorite app

The latest update deleted all my quotes Apparently this has happened in previous updates too I trusted theyd get that fixed but no All quotes and backups are gone If youre going to put out an update just to pimp your new app you should make sure you get the data migration right Unbelievable     Deleted all my quotes

Updated review 3 Do not buy this app they apparently spent a lot of time working on it changing the interface and fixing the synching The iCloud synching STILL does not work between my iPhone and iPad Repeated polite emails to the developer have gone unanswered I see i am not alone in this just about every other review for this apps says the same thing The other half of them are 5star singtheirpraisies reviews of folks who just found the app Boy are they in for a rude awakening Do not buy this app It is buggy loses data does not synch and the developers do not support it or respond to support requests Meanwhile the lead developer or at least the first one listed in the apps credits screen has time for 11000 tweets I think you need to rethink your time priorities mb I will be exporting my data manually dedupingsynching my hundreds of quotes and switching to some other app Review 2 DO NOT BUY THIS APP It has recently become very unstable and will cause all your quotes and rages to duplicate repeatedly and sometimes to gives the quotes differing attributions Developers are EXTREMELY slow to respond to emails and after several months have done NOTHING to fix the problem STAY AWAY If they ever fix the problems then in will revise my review My old review to this oncestellar product is below My old review This is a very nicely done app but it badly needs Dropbox and iDiskiCloud support for import export and backup It also needs iPad support universal version please A Mac version would be nice too and Windows if you must Or a web interface More social media support Autosuggest is also very poor and almost never finds a result It would be nice to be able to flip through the quotes without the editing interface and perhaps control the font size and background image of each quote when viewing that way Printing or copying or creating an image in your photo library from that would also be nice Being able to print a quote at various sizes suitable for framing would be nice too But except for iPaduniversal and DropboxiDisk support which is a MUST these days all of those are nice to haves in a very good app     STILL Buggy STILL doesnt sync developers STILL do not respond

iCloud sync between devices is very slow or unusable at all It can take a long time for new quotes to sync between devices and now with iOS 8 they havent been syncing at all Please fix is Adding a manual refresh gesture would be useful too Ive noticed that when a quote is copied to the clipboard ie Quote Jon Doe the first name Jon becomes who the quote is attributed to and the last name Doe is placed as the source of the quote It would save a lot of hassle if the first and last name we recognized as the attribution Hope this makes sense and it is fixed Also Id love a dark mode Love this app otherwise           One minor quibble

If sync wasnt one of the selling points of this app itd be 5 stars Unfortunately its one of their bullet points on the apps description and works dismally Ive used the app off and on for about a month now and had it sync successfully once Ive emailed their support a couple of times but have only received a reply once with instructions that did not work My advice for the app creators stop using whatever sync service youve been using I suspect its iCloud Core Data and use something else because it is horribly broken        Good looking app broken sync

Good app I like it a lot Unlike others I havent experienced any glitches thankfully But Im not syncing between two devices either which is where most of the issues seem to be stemming from One missing feature prevents the app from getting 5 stars from this reviewer theres no way to add a personal note to a quote I often want to explain the meaning of a quote explain how I came across it or make some other such comment This missing feature is important enough to me that Im beginning to think of storing my quotes in some other fashion Another quote app Within Evernote Developers PLEASE add an optional Notes field              Feature Request

I bought this app for two reasons to collect quotes and to support an independent developer I heard the dev interviewed on a podcast Unfortunately the app isnt functioning It freezes on launch most of the time and when it doesnt it freezes or suddenly quits within a few minutes of use For the first time ever Im requesting a refund from Apple for a purchase     Sadly

Ive been using this app since it came out and sung its praises for the longest time That is until like so many other reviewers I lost ALL of my quotes when updating to the new version 30 iOS 8 Ive been scouring the web for solutions by the developer or even other customers only to find that Im not alone I made the choice to fully rely on this app for quite storage which I felt was reasonable as this is a paid app Im writing this review to warn potential buyers that your data will not be safestored with this app Use Evernote or something else instead Seriously     If you dont mind losing ALL of your quotes

I have owned this app since it was released and I have never NEVER been able to get both iPhone and iPad to sync up despite deleting and reinstalling them several times backing up and restoring quotes even starting from scratch Ive emailed the developer many times and they have NEVER replied Now flash forward to version 3 I installed it and all my quotes were deleted Sadly I am not surprised I emailed for help and once again no response after a month The app UI is nice and it seems well designed Shame it just doesnt work very well and the developer seems uninterested in actually responding to customer questions and complaints or helping us     Developer unhelpful

I bought this when it first came out a year ago It was novel at the time and I entered a few quotes here and there But after this latest release it is much more useable and I find myself jotting down little quotes from my kids to copying quotes from iBooks and web articles It handles them perfectly and has been a great reference This app is a keeper and has a place on my home screen                 Great app

I hate to leave negative reviews but Ive exported any quotes I did keep in this app and am planning to use something on my computer to keep track of quotes I love what Quotebook promises but Ive been using it since the previous version and sync between the iPad and iPhone versions is inconsistent at best and mostly just doesnt work for me The new version 3 was supposed to address sync reliability but for me it hasnt Also my message to their support email went unanswered and its been at least a month Who knows if its because they dont have enough time to support the app arent charging enough etc But as a user who has only had sync working properly about 10 of the time Im moving to something more reliable like OmniOutliner or Tinderbox on the desktop     Abandoned

I am comforted by all the complaints Im not alone This has been my favorite app been copying quotes for years and love that I have a place for them all Then the Apple upgrade and trouble all over Lost quotestags now in duplicate on phone but not IPad cant figure out how to edit tags and PhonePad not syncing I really really REALLY hope Quotebook 3 can get this together           Misery Loves Company

I had so many quotes stored When I updated to the new version they are gone I have tried everything If I look in iCloud the file of stored quotes appears to be there but it cannot be synced to the app Please help This is a five star save this critical problem And it destroys confidence going forward     Same issue as others

Ive used this app for several months now and cant imagine living without it it Before finding Quotebook It literally took me months of searching the App Store for an app I could use solely to store and collect my own quotes This was a rare find and a true gem Ive never had any problems and love having a place to add store and review the quotes I collect The frosting on the cake NO ANNOYING DEMANDS FOR REVIEWS That alone tells you the excellence and integrity of this app and its developers                 A rare find

Ive used this app for a couple years Never had much of a problem I saved hundreds of quotes from all over the place Very convenient useful and beautifully designed Then one day recently I opened the app poof 20 quotes in there Bummer However a restore from a month ago got me almost back to present So I took off a star bc I dont know what happened It might have been the most recent update and the weird iCloud sync problem but the restore worked well              Very good but very bad

This last update deleted everything Hope this can be fixed or Ill be using another app     What the Happened

I bought this app several years ago and as a student been relying on it to store various quotations Ive come across for work in philosophy and legal studies It was spectacularly helpful until I updated to iOS 8 All my quotes are gone I emailed customer service and was told to follow a convoluted set of steps with options that simply didnt correspond to options on my phone eg telling me to press a button a page in settings which didnt exist I replied with screenshots to help clarify my issue for troubleshooting That was 3 weeks ago Ive sent four follow up emails and have heard nothing back Major disappointment Since it has been a major source of frustration for the past month Im giving it 1 star If I can get someone to actually help restore my years worth of quotemining Ill adjust the review accordingly     LOST OVER 1K QUOTES NO RESPONSE FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE

This app has one job and does it well It is ridiculously useful My best friend saw it on my phone and was all like omg gotta have that                 Fantastic

I can live with developers being slow to update to iOS 7 even if I dont like it I cant live with my entire library of quotes disappearing which is what happened with Quotebook I wont be back Update I reversed myself and came back This app lost my quotes for the third time Im done trying     Lost Everything

It is clear this app is no longer supported so reviews are pointless It has been over 6 months with no updates and no response This is a dead app     Truly useless lost quotes forced quits unable to sync

Theres much to like about this app but its much too unstable and quirky to trust with a quote library It frequently crashes quotes mysteriously change attribution syncing doesnt work and importingexporting is finicky Promising but needs rough edges sanded        Promising app needs work

I recently purchased this application and nearly gave it a one star review After putting on my detective hat I found that all of my troubles were primarily caused by iOS 8 iCloud bugs that were also harming many other app developers I decided to put a hold on my use of the application and not review Now that iOS 811 has been pushed out I finally get to use this application It is fantastic I decided to come review this app because I figured the developer has probably taken a lot of flak for things out of their control Sync is now working great for me Id say others can purchase without hesitation Disclaimer I am currently on iCloud Drive Your mileage my vary if you start using this app on the iOS 7 iCloud then make the transition to iCloud Drive with iOS 8                 Great Work

I really like the concept of this app Unfortunately the loss of data is unacceptable Ive lost my entire library of quotes on three different occasions At this point Im just going to use a plain text document to save quotes I love Maybe Ill give this another shot once they figure out their problems but from the looks of it that will be quite some time        Lost quotes

Im starting to use this app as a notebook for quotes and other information that I paste into it The tagging feature helps locate and review the content However Im concerned that the app is not very stable and most importantly there should be a way to export the entire library of your quotes for safe keeping Please keep working on developing this app Its well designed but not as stable as it could be           Using as notebook

Ive been waiting for this update forever but it was worth the wait This is the best app for your personal quote collection It does not shove internet quotes down your throat and lets you add quotes intuitively and easy The import csv works great and the app is a delight both visually and functionally I never lost a qoute with it but I do recommand a backup to mail from time to time My deepest thanks to the devs this is the best quote app in the appstore hands down I read a lot of users complaining that they lost all of their quotes Never happened to me I jus hit restore after I installed the app and all of my quotes were back Anyway keep in mind that every system is imperfect and do a email backup every few months                 Absolutely Brilliant

By far the best app out there for storing your quotes Good looking interface recognizes quotes from your clipboard iCloud syncing easy to share the quotes to Twitter It would be cool if they made a widget too with a random quote of the day in your Notification Center Also would love a Mac app too                 Fantastic app for storing quotes
